After downloading the 1.0.12 and 1.0.14 updates I no longer see ANY blocks, I have updated java and my drivers. What could be causing this? I have also tried a thirdparty texture pack and the same issue occurs.

Is it an ATI video card you have?
If so, then use the link below to driver sweeper for instructions for a complete removal because there are probably some files left. Also could you run dixdiag and post a screenshot of the display tab.

That fix will work so I will say that the drivers are not fully removed. Try the stuff above in my reply.
If you don't want to do try then fine but the fix that was originally posted by Tristam Izumi does work.
I did install it and it did work, I was just saying that the need to have an application to force uninstall a driver is silly.
This is Windows we're talking about. Everything is silly and absurd when you get down to it.
I apologise then because I thought that your reply was to say that you did not need to use such a program to remove drivers.
Has your issue now been resolved? If so, I can get the thread closed.
