Direwolf20 - Material Emancipation Grid unfinished?

So, the Portal Gun wiki at http://ichun.us/w/index.php?title=Material_Emancipation_Grid implies that the Material Emancipation Grid works.
However if I make it in Direwolf20 and click on a wall it just gives a message

[PortalGun] I told you not to use it!

I've had my hopes up about this working since, I don't know, minecraft 1.4.7 about.

Also - is there any way to get High Energy Pellets to bounce around corners (without using portals)?

That wiki page was made for something like Minecraft 1.4.5 or 1.5.2.

The current version of Portal Gun for 1.7.10 is incomplete and likely won't ever be as finished as the mod was for previous versions.

Unfinished is a curious way of documenting things that were previously finished.

Even better is the discovery that the Portal Spawner item despawns if the chunk its in is unloaded. Its not like it didn't cost me a nether star or anything,

The Emancipation Grids were never finished, (they were designed to destroy whole inventory's not just reset portals lol)
