First, uninstall all java's and only reinstall J7u45.
Second, you are not going to be able to run this pack (stock) on WinXP, since it's 32 bit. You will have to disable several mods that are known to use a lot of memory.

I have the same problem. Which mods in the pack should be activated to run it on 32 bit systems? And which Windows Versions are 64 bit?

Thanks for the tip. Uninstalling java and re-installing worked, but now I run out of memory. Changing mod packs isnt really an option as I run a FTB server and now can no longer log in from my work computer. Thankfully I dont have this problem at home.

Use FTB Lite 2

While I applaud the attempt at a reduced RAM package this packs leaves a great deal to be desired.

Unfortunately the packs are too big now to be able to run with only 1GB of ram. A work computer aint going to be designed for gaming anyway.

You shouldn't be playing video games on a work computer in the first place. If that's your job, then they should give you a better computer. (same goes for school computers)
