im trying to get on to ftb dw20 to go on a server and this comes up!

A few things. First you have windows so you should be using Java 7 not Java 6, even then your version of 6 is out of date. Second unless your OS is 32bit you should be using the 64bit version of Java so you can allocate more memory to Java if needed. Lastly your setup is not recommended. Please follow this guide to do so.

Now the problem at first appears to be Java, but the bottom part of your log suggest it might be something else as well.

I've usually seen this as something like Unknown character in xxx.cfg or some other file. This is usually caused when a config gets corrupted or is not edited correctly. A re-install of the server or force update of the client, depending on which has the faulty config, should fix that error. The error above that should be fixed when you update your Java.

If after following the guide and updating the configs with a re-install you are still expericing problems please post a console log in debug mode to pastebin.com and maybe a server log to pastebin.com and link to it here. Look here for more info about the logs.

Okay so this only happens with the direwolf20 and ftb unleashed pack( the two ones i play)but none else did i screw somthing up?

And also I cannot upgrade my java as i do not have administrator privileges
This only happend around an hour ago

I am having the same problem with the same modpacks , and the problem only started about 10- 15 minutes ago but it was working fine when i was playing mabye an hour ago.

I did the guide and it did not help.if other people are having this problem then it will proably be resolved soon because its most likley the ftb servers

Stop. That's the problem. Administrator privileges or not, it is not recommended to put the FTB launcher and the mod files in the same place, on the desktop!
Delete all your modpacks from the desktop. Make a new folder called /ftb/ or something, then install FTB in there.
Just Google "how to properly install FTB" and read a tutorial if you don't know how.
