I am pretty sure it used to be possible to connect an ComputerCraft wired modem to a MFE / MFSU / BatBox etc - when using OpenPeripherals.

All the necessary mods are in Direwolf20: I can attach a wired modem to my nuclear reactor just fine - but I cannot connect to any of the IC2 energy storage devices. Was support dropped? The open perhiperals configuration that is relevant is all enabled.
 
Well it seems that the MFE and MFSU are no longer solid blocks and won't accept a direct connection from a modem.
Lucky openperipherals adds a proxy block that can go between.
