After DW20 5.2.0 rolled out every time I entered the NEI I just lagged out and crashed. So I came up with this little workaround. Not so much a fix but will allow to to access the new stuff without crashing (exempt of what ChickenBones added).
-Enter your FTB Launcher, and on the top bar where you've updated, revert to 5.1.1. (make sure to launch the game so it will update)
-Download file in this link: http://adf.ly/673885/http://files.m.../minecraftforge-universal-1.4.7-6.6.2.534.zip
-In the FTB Launcher go to "Edit Mod Pack" then click "JarMods"
-Click "Open Folder" at the bottom and drag the downloaded file into that folder.
-Press Enable in the FTB Launcher (there should be two files there now)
-Click on the old file and then press "Disable"
-Now download this .zip http://www.mediafire.com/?h1chn35njohpv2r unpack it. (the folder should read "mods")
-You now have two options.
1- Find your game folder named direwolf20
-Go Direwolf20>minecraft
-In the minecraft folder find the folder labled mods and replace it with the folder downloaded
2- Re-enter the FTB Launcher
-Re-enter the "Edit Mod Pack"
-Under "Mods" click "Open Folder"
-Remove all files and replace with the files within the downloaded folder "Mods"
-------(after you've done one of the two)----------
-Re-enter the "Edit Mod Pack" (or stay there if you followed option 2)
Under "Mods" click "Enable"
--------------------------------------------------------
Then just launch your game and you should be good as gold.
