So, my server recently upgraded to dw20 1.8.0 and in the process we lost the My Town 2 addon which was providing a 'proper' permissions based system for grief prevention.

So, I have a lot of infrastructure that I don't want to loose, but the computer room with its AE drives the the most irreplaceable.

Other than Thaumcrafts warded blocks, is there any other way to protect small to large areas / inventories from other players?
The chests from thermal expansion seem to, perhaps have, some kind of permissions control.
Anything else?

I have never played that pack, but if it has pneumaticcraft, that offers some protection.

The pneumaticraft system seems to encourage / legitimize griefing by turning it into a gameplay element - http://www.minemaarten.com/wikis/pneumaticcraft-wiki/pneumaticcraft-wiki-security-station-hacking/

When you log on and find your stuff gone, it is scant cosolation that the perp had to spend a few minutes 'hacking' your security solution.

Applied Energistics 2 and RFTools both implement access control security, but not block protection. Not unreasonably most mods expect actual block protection to be done by a server side permissions plugin it seems :/
