Direwolf20 1.6.4 v1.0.14 won't launch.

I see that other people were having issues that involved the mod Morph, and that doesn't seem to be the case for me.

Mine doesn't even start loading the mods. I click launch, a few seconds later, my console stops on that message. I've waited, and it doesn't go anywhere. I've reinstalled and that doesn't help. I've done everything I know to do, and it seems like the Morph issue has been resolved, so I guess it's just me that's stuck.

When I launch other packs, they seem to work just fine (I launched Unleashed, no problem there). It's just the Direwolf20 1.6.4 pack that is not working.

Hm. You're the first person I've seen trying Java 8. I wonder if that may have some effect on your problem. I don't want to tell you to downgrade to 1.7.0_51 x64, but that may resolve your problem.

Other than that, I don't really see anything wrong with your logs.


And as a note for us tech support peoples,

Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM warning: ignoring option PermSize=256m; support was removed in 8.0

Edit: You mentioned trying Unleashed and it worked. Have you tried any of the other 1.6.4 packs? Do they also load, or do they crash like DW20 1.6.4?

It's working now. I changed my directory for the pack and launched. It DL'd the pack and I was back in. I'm not sure what went wrong with my old directory, but meh. It's working now.

Java 8 is still in ea or early access, which is another way of saying beta. Some have it work successfully others have had nothing but headaches with it. Until it is fully released Tech Support is always going to recommend the latest Java 7.
