When my friend tries to enter my server is minecraft crash and when he tries to enter the single it sais out of memory here is his crash report:

use the 64 bit version,then u can allocate more memory in the ftb launcher under options

Let him remove all client side only mods maby he can play then. If that fails try a smaller modpack or choose what to disable on the server sadly enough that is all I can think off. Hope it helps.

Apparently there is a problem with map writer using a lot of memory. The mod author is aware and is working on it.
