Okay...

So I am running a DireWolf Minecraft Server.

  • What OS are you running? Windows 8.1 64-bit
  • Are you using minecraft hosting provider or a dedicated/local server not designed for minecraft? Local just because its for a friend and I to play on. Just us two.
  • What version of FTB are you using? (Don't just say latest tell us the version) FTB v1.3.14 DireWolf20 (v1.0.23) Minecraft Version 1.6.4
  • Did you add any mods to the server pack? Whatever came with DireWolf.
  • What are your server specs? Idk what this means, if you help me I can give you info on that.
  • A good detailed paragraph about the problem. When I try starting up, its runs normally. When its done, no one on the server, it starts going, "Can't keep up? Server time change? Overload?" message. I just want to play with a guy, named scream191vevo, on a server. He lives in NC and I live in CT. So ofc he can't come over to play mc with me whenever. We wanted to play 100% on a private server to us. He has a worse computer than mine and decided we use mine to host. I shut everything except the server console and he put his settings on the lowest. He got 7fps. He wants at least 20 with his render being normal, not tiny. We are working all week to fix this. What can we do to fix this? I just want to be able to run skype, minecraft, and the server console. I want to get at least 15fps myself. I get 1-2 with a rare occasion of 3fps.

I am in PC info, and it tells me my Processor, if anyone needs that.

I have 4.00GB Installed RAM (3.60 GB usable)

All help is appreciated. Once I figure out this problem, I will report back what I did to fix it.

Your processor is the problem here, get a ugrade or shut over every application execpt the server and don't run your client and the server at the same time.

Also your specs are your PC spefications, we need more then just ram, ram doesn't affect lag or those messages at all.

The FPS your friend gets should have nothing to do with the server. His pc is just not good enough to run that pack, I assume. Even the can't keep up messages on the server should not impact his FPS. It just tells you the server is running behind. Your own low FPS is probably because you run the server and client on one computer, that is never advisable.

So there are two problems. Your pc to run the server (don't even think about running the client on it too) is too slow and your friends pc is too slow too.

The best thing you can do is to rent a hosted server with a minimm of 4GB ram. Then you can both connect to that server. That should get some load of both of your computers and chances are you could run the DW20 pack with some decent FPS, but no guarantee's there.

I get same error with the monster pack. I am running my server on a HP Porliant server. It has two CPUs each are quad core at 3g and 8 gig men. Even with all that I get overloaded errors. CPU use on all core is 80 to 100%. I know monster pack has a lot of mods but this much cpu use is extreme.

Make your own thread, also you didn't say which CPU models you have, but based on the fact that you have two, those processors are most likely geared more for multithreaded apps and will have low end single threaded performance which is what minecraft needs, GHZ is not everything and this error means your CPU is lagging and can't handle it.
