What are our thoughts when a mod goes through updates or even when a mod goes through lateral updates? Do we only keep the mod info updated to the latest version? Do we identify the different mod alternatives?

Example is Industrialcraft 2

Since Minecraft version 1.7.10, Industrialcraft 2 is now called: Industrialcraft 2 Experimental. This a giant update that a lot a lot a lot of new blocks to play with. It also made recipe changes to a few basic items to slightly prolong progression. Finally, it made a few blocks obsolete. Main page:
http://forum.industrial-craft.net/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=9843

Alternatively (and officially), there is a version called: Industrialcraft 2 Classic. Instead the new features, it just maintains the same items and blocks and same recipe. There are only a few new blocks added like the Singularity Compressor, Centrifugal Extractor, Rotary Macerator, etc.

How would we go about explaining all of this? Should we put this general info on the IC2 wiki page somehow? Someone is working on a stand alone page that shows the small changes found in IC2 classic: https://ftb.gamepedia.com/IndustrialCraft_2_Classic_Changes and also create a new page:
Should we also create a stand alone page that discusses the IC2 Experimental new changes? IC2 nav has the . Should we add both IC2 Experimental and IC2 classic into 1 single Nav and appropiately organize it to distinguish both mod versions?

IC2 experimental is just an iteration of IC2, it's not really a whole new mod. I mean, they didn't even change their major version. Which is why IndustrialCraft 2 and IndustrialCraft 2 Experimental are both the same mod on the wiki. IndustrialCraft 2 Classic however is an entirely separate mod that is taking its own direction, and as such it should be documented as a separate mod, despite it having the same origin as IndustrialCraft 2.

There is also a template that can be used to indicate something as being from experimental. Can't remember what it's called though.
