Other than the walls surrounding it yes, that is what I drew in the diagram, stacked high. Basically the diagrams were on a per floor basis, and I do realize some people have trouble visualizing stuff likes those, so I was actually about to post a picture this morning since I could get on :X

If by the walls surrounding it you mean the outside walls of the building yeah did think of that and IIRC golems can move through 1 high gaps, so when I build something like this in my world my plan is to raise it one block up off the ground and then the golem can move unhindered then perhaps I will dig down to y level 6 or so and build a gigantic tower of them (just for the fun of it) and see what the output is and it should all be able to be handled by one golem (though if that seems to have trouble I may have to add floors and then make more golems.

One golem should be fine, just make sure that whatever you have the golem put it in is flush with the rest of the walls/floor so he doesn't have to move up and over it. And yea, I was talkin about the outer walls. With your setup it wouldn't be hard to have, as an example, one block on the outer wall as a relay and just trap the golem inside the room. The golem should be able to easily naviaget around those walls considering the hallways are 2x2, and the relay will output anything stuck into it into the RP2 network if you wish. The other possiility would be leaving a hole in the wall but put a chest blocking the hole from the side you want to collect from, this way you can easily open the chest and the golem will standby in the hole until there's some goo to collect.

And yea, I can pretty much guarantee that, at least when building horizontally, the number of torches in the area only improves how much you get. When I first read about this functionality I just placed about 300 torches on the ground with some golems collecting and got a fair bit of goo within a decent amount of time considering the spawn chance of it. So, with that said, building the tower vertically shouldn't affect the drop rate of goo unless there has to be a solid block so many spaces below it for it to spawn which I haven't checked yet. It can be relatively easy to test by building a small tower up to world height, placing a few torches only at the top, and have a golem collecting at the bottom. After that, you just wait, though I'd make sure that the items can only fall downward within a small area.

Do you know if the amount of goo produced is proportional to the number of torches, or am I wasting resources by having a tall column of them? *Edit* Wow, 147 torches, that's quite a lot. I need to get more gunpowder.
Actually, its not THAT much, if Im correct, when you craft sulfur torches they make 8, and 8 x 8 = 64, 64 x 2 is 128, so you need a little more than 16, if my math is correct, dont quote me on this, Im doing this off the top of my head xD

Your math is correct there and also as Ive said before you dont even need to use gunpowder with a 10% chance to get a sulfur (the kind you pulverise again to get two different sulfur that can then be used to make torches) you can get the 8 you need from pulverising 40 netherack.[DOUBLEPOST=1358973181][/DOUBLEPOST]

If it did turn out that you needed to have floor at certain distance from the torch to make it drop would not be that big of a problem just mean you would need to put a floor in every so often in the tower and put in a golem. What I really want to know is if the upcoming TE Tessaracts (Replacement for teleport piepes) can directly link to golems or if you need a relay as that would really make the build concise and small if all you needed was one Tesseract to send the items off wherever you need.

If it acted like a relay then it would act like a chest. As long as something is considered an inventory the golem will work with it - with Relays from RP2 they act like chests when dealing with anything that dumps items into adjacent chests, so if it's trated as such then it would work, if not then it won't.
