I have an enderchest that all mob drops go into (+ eggs). I have 2 other chests. I want to put ONLY EGGS into chest 1 and everything else into chest 2. Can I do this with diamond pipes or something else?

Yes you can by placing the egg into the colour you want then that item will only go that way and everything else will go the other way.

Yes. Use a wooden pipe first to pull items out of the ender chest, then connect your diamond pipe, then connect your chests/pipes to the diamond pipe. Pay attention to the colours of the diamond pipe where the connections are. These are the output routes. Right click the diamond pipe, you'll see it has a series of rows, each colour coded to match a colour on the diamond pipe. These are your filters. Place your egg into one of the slots that matches your colour going to the egg chest. Now, all eggs will only ever go down that route, everything else will take the only other available route.

A diamond pipe by default acts like any cobblestone / stone pipe.
If you right click it you bring up an interface with eight colored rows.

Here's how the logic of it works.

1. Nothing on colors row. Items can go down this path freely unless they came from this path to begin with.
2. An Egg on a row. All eggs entering from any other path into the diamond pipe with exit through this path for the egg.
3. Two or more rows with an egg. All eggs entering from any other path will randomly equally go down one of the paths for eggs.
4. One row has 3 eggs on it, another row has 1 egg on it. All eggs entering from any other path will 75% chance go down the path with three eggs, 25% chance go down the other path.
5. If a path for eggs immediately can go to an inventory (chest, barrel, etc) but that inventory is full - the egg will try to go down another path for eggs OR if none available will then try to go down a path without anything on a row.

That's about most of the high points for diamond pipes.

Awesome, for some reason I was under the impression that unless an item was given a specific route, it took a random one that wasn't the way it came.

Only if you define no items at all to any of the pipe colours, then it's just like an expensive cobble pipe.

If there is no preset path for an item, it will take any free path. I'm not sure if this includes the one it came from (similar to a blocked iron pipe path).

This is how you can filter your quarry items, or any other system.
