I'm building a frame quarry with a Thaumcraft Arcane Bore as its core mining piece. Thing is, I'm building it in that aroma1997 mining dimension, which while flat has a surface y-level of 80, and the arcane bore mines ~70 blocks down, so I'm going to partially bury it with some annihilation planes on the front, and I've definitely seen surface pockets of lava. I think none of the blocks I'm using are lava sensitive, but just in case I end up adding something that is, I'd like to know what options I have to protect it. Do note that since the front is going to be covered in annihilation planes, I can't use anything that needs direct contact with the lava.

I'm running the Direwolf20 pack with a couple extra mods. Most notable, content wise, would be Technomancy, Automagy, and Thaumic Bases

Tartarus.. I mean at work. Same thing really.
The main problem I've ever had would be lava flowing in from the side and interacting with water. (assuming you also get water generation).
With flammable or fluid-sensitive blocks thrown in, I'd recommend the following;

Annihilation planes have a counterpart which does the opposite effect [places block]- mount a column of these on both sides and have them try to place cobble/dirt for every block you crawl forward. This'll plug any gaps and stop all the problems.

Also post some screenshots of your mining rig. They're always cool to look at!
