I have a row of peat engines that are filled via distribution pipes from a peat bog. My problem is however that the ash from the engines gets dumped into the pipes and messes everything up. Is anyone having this problem or know of any solutions

Peat engines periodically dump their ash into adjacent pipes so you don't have to manually empty them. Try placing a diamond pipe in the line to redirect the ash to a chest.

I use an iron pipe to keep them from back flowing and then have an exhaust pipe that leads to a chest to store them.

That chest also stores excess peat.

Do Peat fired Engines actually have an advantage over the regular Stirling engines? Does Peat Burn longer in them?

Peat produces 25% more energy than charcoal. In a stirling engine that means 2k MJ compared to 1.6k with charcoal. Peat fired engines get 2.5 times that, or 5k MJ.

I've never heard of a peat engine exploding, but I've not done much with bituminous peat.
