Custom Font Support

So I run the Soartex DW20 texture pack and have noticed there is no HD font. Is there any way I can fix this without using MCPatcher or Optifine?

As far as I know the only way to get custom font is to use the MCPatcher or Optifine.
Optifine is easier to install in the mod packs than MCPatcher I believe.
Why don't you want to use them?

Custom fonts, CTM, Animated textures, custom liquids, custom colors, and randomized textures are all exclusive to MCPatcher and Optifine. There is no other way to get those.

I thought MCPatcher wasn't compatible with Forge and, by extension, FTB.

I believe that Mojang may support this in the future, they are doing a lot of changes to how texturepacks work in vanilla, for example;

• Each texture gets it's own file, missing files will be vanilla instead of pink/purple or transparent.
• Textures can have any size.
• Textures can be animated.

Excellent, thank you! This thread also answered another question I was about to ask, about why my custom lava wasn't working in a texture pack. Didn't know it was an exclusive feature.

Optifine will cause flickering of xycraft and factorization blocks and ore.

I have Optifine installed in the Direwolf20 pack, and I haven't seen this happen. Then again, I have seen weird issues with Optifine and a few texture packs, and haven't tried it with the vanilla textures. Could the issue be something in that ballpark?

Correction: no problems with tex packs. That was an issue with trying to install shaders. Optifine should fit your needs OP, give it a roll.
