I have a mob farm build using curses earth (for my Blood Magic Well of Suffering), and I've had problems with some creature exploding and knocking out the walls (DW20 pack).

I finally build myself a Thaumcraft Warding focus for my wand, and warded the whole thing.. Unfortunatley, I found that Warded cobblestone allows light through. Is this a bug? Anyone know a good workaround? My mob farm is still working, but at reduced speed since the light is seeping in.

What's blowing up the walls you might ask? Figured it out when my own well of suffering mob farm got trashed, repeatedly. It's a series of events really.

1: Wither witch spawn inside farm
2: Wither witch uses splash potion of healing from taking damage
3: Splash potion catches a skeleton in it's aoe
4: Skeleton starts shooting arrows at witch due to taking damage from potion
5: Stray arrows from skeleton hit nearby creeper
6: Creeper self destructs in response to being shot at and blows holes in mob farm

Wither witches are part of Ender zoo(ender IO), Their use of splash potions is the cause of this and a few other small issues with mob farms.

Second cause of damage to mob farms is due to Pneumaticraft... When creepers drop creeper seeds, they cause a small explosion. This explosion is not supposed to damage anything, but for some reason, breaks glass and other softer materials within 3 blocks of the creeper. Softer materials like redstone lamps, vacuum hoppers, and sometimes dark glass(the one made from blackout curtains).

Solutions?

1: Obsidian
2: Warded blocks with a second layer of regular blocks outside the warded blocks(to block the light)
3: Other blast resistant blocks like concrete
4: Designing the mob farm so that the mobs are kept separate from each other(reduces the number of spawn locations dramatically...)
5: Disabling the "small" explosion creepers make when dropping creeper seeds via the pneumaticraft config(saves your glass and lights only, creeper seeds still drop)
6: Turning on the creeper only anti-mob greifing option in the chicken chunks config(not recommended, removes one of the vanilla features of the game...)

6 is the least recommended due to removal of the ability to use creepers for landscaping. heh ;)

If you have thaumic tinkerer installed, you can use the kinetic attractor. I believe you can use a soul mold to attune the attractor to only affect one type of mob. This way, you should be able to keep the witches and skeletons and creepers apart.
