Curse / Unleashed will not connect to servers

  • Tech Support section is for getting help with FTB related problems. If there's a repeatable issue that can be labeled as a bug, then please use the issue tracker for the pack or the app at GitHub issue trackers - If there's no repository for a pack that means that the pack is old and/or will not be updated. Bugs for older packs will not be fixed, unless they are critical.

Title:
Curse / Unleashed will not connect to servers
Launcher Version:
Curse 7.1.6018.41463 b (7/26/2016)
Modpack:
Unleashed
Modpack Version:
Current (final release)
Log Link:
Details of the issue:
The FTB Unleashed modpack installed via the Curse Launcher can not connect to an Unleashed server, but the old FTB Launcher version of Unleashed connects just fine.

This new Minecraft based launcher for old versions of modpacks is barfing on the following error. I am unable to decipher it.

(The new Curse Launcher "support" ticket system is a pile of garbage, all responses from the Curse support people are hidden, and there is no way to openly discuss problems and search them with Google to find other people's problems and their solutions. So I am posting here and ignoring Curse's new support method where all problems are being conveniently hidden from public view, and isn't this a wonderful new launcher platform? No visible problems with it to speak of.)

I don't know a lot of mods that "encrypt" their class names like that, but some suspects I have, are Optifine, Fastcraft or X-ray.

I'm wondering if it is a Java version issue. The curse launcher uses the native minecraft launcher which has its own built in java. Which if I remember correctly is Java 8_25. What are you using with the FTB launcher? Also, you can force curse/native launcher to use another version by starting the pack but don't click play. Instead click on edit profile. There will be an option near the bottom that will allow you enable and select a different javaw.exe file.

Kind of looks like that server is offline

Does it work on single player and/or on other servers?
