Bug Crystal Binder not binding to rotatable blocks

The Draconic Evolution Crystal Binder will not bind to any block that i can rotate (TE Pulverizer, Redstone Furance, etc) but will bind to unrotatable blocks (Draconic Chest, Rock Crusher, etc).

Am I doing it wrong, and if not, is there a workaround?
