I know it's added through Forestry, via the Wintry Bees or whichever. I've seen it on FTB, and on my own custom modded server. Problem is, I just haven't established how to obtain it.

I've tried using the squeezer, powered by a stirling engine, with snowballs and ice shards. But I just can't find a recipe for it. Is there a specific amount of snowballs or ice shards or some pattern to it? No matter what I do, it just doesn't result in crushed ice, and I can't find a recipe for it anywhere, so I wasn't really sure where else to ask. D:

Well, this one came up several times already and to be honest, you're the first one to get this far.

Anyway, which pack you on? I'm using mindcrack and the recipe shows just fine, it's one snowball and four shards. A quick creative test show that it works just fine. You didn't forget to power your squeezer, right?

Well, he said he had a sterling engine powering it, so I assume it had power.

Never forget the "U" key in NEI to see the recipes that use that item, it could help great deal.

I'm mainly running my own modded server, but it has a lot of the same mods as FTB, only with a few more in addition. Everything else works, and the squeezer is powered because I can get apple juice with no problems.

I've always used R to see what a recipe for something is, or right-clicked it (in Recipe Mode) to see what it could make. Doesn't help at all with this because the only items with crushed ice are the capsules/cells, which my clients only show the Liquid Transposer (Thermal Expansion thing) recipe of. The actual crushed ice liquid has no recipes or anything.

But the recipe thing was the only issue. It's working now, at least. I'm betting that NEI just doesn't have those recipes natively, but oh well. Much appreciated.~

While I'm at it, although I may just have to make a thread separate for this or check the tech support page... Something that I'm encountered in the FTB server when I was running it as well as my own server, the Advanced Machines mod, is having a major glitchfest for me. I'm repeatedly seeing "didn't implement demands energy() properly", and it's always caused severe lag. It's happened on generic IC2 machines and the Advanced Machines both, so I'm not sure what the cause is or how to fix it.

Slight (Huge memory using, but slight because inside the code only like 1 line needs to be fixed) bug, or thing left on purposefully by IC2 Devs, the version of IC2 that the pack has does not have it turned off, so if you want that fixed, you need to manually update your server (and probably the clients, not certain on that) to the latest version here.

Much appreciated. I should just be able to update IC2 on my server without it breaking anything, since I left the ID's for IC2 the same as they are natively, correct?

If so, that'll solve all of my problems then. Well, outside of NEI not having all the recipes, but that's manageable as I know most of the recipes or can look them up online -- the compiled plugin combination for Buildcraft, IC2, Forestry, etc. always errors out if I ever try to use it, so it's never been worth the hassle to me.

If the config file is the same, you shouldn't have any problems with that.

Actually, I don't think that's a problem either, I'm running a version past the "official" beta release (1.112.186-lf), and I believe that the NEI plugin comes already installed with IC2.

Well, my NEI does inform me that 1 snow ball + 4 Ice shard in a squeezer makes 1000mb (1 bucket) of Crushed Ice.

Not sure how you looked it up, but it does appears.

To be specific, it is the only recipe involving Ice Shard, or one of the 4 involving the creation of Crushed Ice, the others being cans, capsules and refractory capsules.

The only reason for them not showing would be if you are on an old version of the Mindcrack pack, as it previously didn't have NEI plugins.

I'm running a custom server myself, but I do have the FTB Beta pack as well. I don't recall if the beta pack showed the recipes or not -- but yeah, the plugins are the problem. I can't seem to find the NEI plugins that FTB uses anywhere, and actually get it to work. ._.

Go to chicken bones thread:
http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/909223-145146-smp-chickenbones-mods/

In the NEI spoiler, Downloads, at the bottom, he links the plugins by mystaqur:
https://bitbucket.org/mistaqur/nei_plugins/wiki/Home

From what I see it is indeed the same, even the version matches.

Took me a week to even notice this, but, see the last part of what you quoted from me? I tried those, as well as the plugin jar that had them all merged into one convenient plugin. Both of them caused the server to crash and I simply couldn't identify the error code, and gave up. In the end, I just felt it wasn't worth dealing with.

Just curious, would you happen to have a backup link? I never downloaded it, and that link seems not to be working anymore.

Wait, server crash?
NEI is a mod that is player-side, not server-side.

I heard that there are some specific plugins for the server if you want to use special functions within it, but it is mostly rights management.

Anyway, NEI plugins are in the mods now, so you should not need to install them.
