Hi, I want to make a server with a FTB modpack on Creeperhosting. I had a question before I order my server. One of my friends told me that you had to pay extra to add a Modpack. Is this true? I searched everywhere but couldn't find the answer. Hopefully one of you will know.

No, you dont have to pay extra.
You can choose whatever Modpack you like in their Software Selector or upload it youtself trough SFTP.

You only have to pay extra if you messed up something in the root folder, but other then that, nope you don't have to pay anything extra.
Just a tip though, go for at least the Zombie package.

What Wagon153 said. I started with Creeperhost a couple months ago, only three players. The zombie package is working well for us, 4 chunkloaders, some quarries, mystcraft, more sprawl than is probably recommended but the server ticks along well. Needs a restart once a week or so due to the memory creeping up around 90%. A bit of googling leads me to believe that is inherently part of modded minecraft though. I am by no means an expert, but take this as a positive review for Creeperhost.
And how is the lag? Do they guarantee any sort of lag-free experience? I ask because I am so ridiculously frustrated at how awfuly laggy the servers I've tried to play on are. I have no idea who does the hosting, I've probably sampled many different server setups over the years. Most of em are garbage.
I haven't seen any lag from their end. Only problem we have seen is when we started playing with Enhanced Portals. Seems to be some instability with the version in Monster 1.1.2 but that was cleared up when we removed it from the pack. On the plus side I got both an automated email and an honest to goodness real person mailing me from tech support saying they had detected a problem with the server and did I needed any help? Very happy with the support from Creeperhost.
Me and a friend just started using creeperhost the other day. So, I can't say much on longevity, but I can give you a few other notes and tips.
First, when you first get your server, you will need to use the IP Address, not the host name. It takes quite awhile for some DNSes to update. This is for everything, including the FTP and logging into the server.
Next: If you have a problem, go ahead and use their tech support. You will have a response within like 2 minutes from a real person.

The Quality of the servers are pretty much standard at Creeperhost.... the biggest problem I had with them, is to make sure you fix automated payments.... or pay years in advance.... we missed a payment by 3 days (off on holiday and wasnt checking my spam-mail accounts). They simply delete ALL your data with no recovery option.
So if you go creeperhost, dont plan on playing a world long term... you can lose alot of work with them!

My biggest issue with them was they started to lag a lot after more than a few weeks of use between about 10 players
Invoices are dispatched 28 days before due date with reminders and it is 4 days suspension before the server is terminated on the 5th day, not 3
