Hi,

Kind of new to creating modpacks. Been playing a lot of them lately but I want to create my own to suit my personal style of play. Also I do it becouse I got addicted to it when I started looking into creating my own modpack.

The one thing I`m still not sure how to do the best way possible Is to create the map. This is how I want to do it and I hope someone can direct me to the best mod/map creator:

I want to create a single biome with the same block everywhere and only monsters spawning. Just like crash landings map. I want to have caves to mine in but I have to be able to specify what`s gonna spawn in them of recources and/or other blocks I want. It also have to proceduraly generate, so it cant be a premade map. Also I want to specify special things to spawn on the surface like pillars or mountains of ice.

Lots if planning and testing is needed before I`m sure what kind of map type I want to play but I realy need to start creating test maps to see what works and not :)

Not sure if the biomeTweaker is the best tool here or is it only me that has to take a deeper look into it?

Yeah I`m gonna use Lockdown to make sure the correct map is loaded. But I don`t think world painter is gonna let me build a biome thats gonna proceduraly generate.

Blast off modpack has something like that I want too. Whole map is made of hardend clay and the ores spawn in hardend clay blocks. All inside pillars with spawners on the surface. How to do something like that?

Lock down uses a map and will go to vanilla generation once it reaches the end of the map generation. To control mob spawning, I'll use Biome Tweaker. Along side with Lonely Biome mod to have a world with a single biome. Both can be found on the curse launcher for versions 1.7.10-1.9.4.
