I've got the same problem. Searched in the forum already, but the things I found didn't help.
Sometimes it says "Can't keep up .." and closes.
Before I updated FTB (mindcrack 8.2.0), it worked fine and i never had problems.
It seems to have a problem with the "brainzombie" ? But I think this is not the reason for the other problem?

I had the same problem on my pc which has a 3.3 ghz processor and a gtx 650 (so its pretty good) and you just need to allocate more ram to minecraft. I think this will do the trick:
Im not completely sure though because I have a pc. Also for some reason I can only play on fast graphics or else the problem still happens. On far I get over 100 fps so its not a hardware problem.
Mine does the same thing, and i notice we are all Mac... i see a pattern... i can load into the world, and about 15-30 seconds later it goes black and stays black.... no errors, and you have to force quit
edit: and its not ram, i increased mine to 3.5 gigs and same thing
The OP has a problem with thaumcraft. Force update.
If the rest of you could provide log files, I could try my best to help.
Also, 2.0 is in testing and has many fatal bugs.
Well I think it's more a problem of mindcrack because direwolf runs without a problem. Thank you Alex, but i knew this already and the problem is elsewhere. =(
Sometimes the game crashes and says something about the "thaumcraft-zombie" and "unknown entity".
Well i'll try to reinstall java 6 and the launcher..
Edit: Wrote "-XX: PermSize=64M -XX:MaxPermSize=256M" in the advanced options. I'm not really happy with this (still laggy), but it runs again without crashing =D
((-XX: PermSize=64M without space between ":" and "P", i wrote it like that cause otherwise there's a smiley..
