So i have begun playing...or trying to play Yogcraft. I wanted to install the Sphax pack for it but it seems my computer can't run it as the game was very laggy after starting the game up. The game would get stuck at the loading screen and i realized i forgot to install optifine. After installing Optifine, when i launch the game the FTB logo comes up and the game gets stuck at a black screen and crashes.
I'm pretty sure if i could remove the texture pack i can get the game going but unfortunately i can't get into the game. I tried a force update but the texture pack remained there and the game crashed again.
If anyone could give me some advice with this i would really appreciate it!

Yup, I did. If I could just reset the whole launcher I think that would help, or at least remove the Texture Pack with starting the game.

Have you tried manually deleting the texture pack or the texture pack folder? I just deleted the folder and it went back to the default texture pack.

How would I do that? If I go into %appdata% you mean, and go into FTB and texturepacks it doesn't show up there, just the packs the launcher came with.

Which do you use for the launcher, exe or jar? I know at least with the jar, probably the exe too, you can put it in another folder and change the 'Install folder ...' to the folder it is now in. That should give you a fresh start with FTB launcher.

One thing that puzzles me though. How did you install Spax if it does not show up in the texurepack folder? Did you use a program to install it? Did you overwrite the files in the normal texture pack? Have you tried deleting the texture pack folder entirely? Including the 'texturepacks-mp-cache' folder? If you do not mind re-downloading your texture packs it might work, just be sure to make a backup if you made any custom changes.

I'm using the jar. So if I install it elsewhere besides the downloads folder it should work?
I went into the game, clicked texture packs, and selected the pack from there. I don't mind deleting everything, it's the only pack I had. Besides, I've been eyeing Soartex.

Please see my edit at the bottom.

Backup your saves folder. Then just create a new folder put the jar in it and change the 'Install Folder ...' to that. It can still be in the downloads folder, just another folder inside the downloads folder.

I went into the game, clicked texture packs, and selected the pack from there. I don't mind deleting everything, it's the only pack I had. Besides, I've been eyeing Soartex.
So the texure pack showed in game, but not in the texture pack folder through windows? That sounds strange to me, but I would not worry about it.

Edit: I just realized something. If you did not realize the install folder for FTB is not the same folder as vanilla minecraft. FTB runs from the folder the launcher is told the 'Install Folder ...'. It does not even look in the %AppData% folder. At least not for the jar. I believe the exe may still look there. Hope that explains why you did not see the Spax texture pack.

So the folder that the launcher.jar is in will have folders for the modpacks. Open that folder and then the minecraft folder inside and the texturepacks folder. That is where FTB stores the texture packs for that modpack.

Setting the install location to anywhere with a space in the path, or in a temporary folder, which includes the downloads folder. The best solution is to set it to C:\FTB

Alright! I got it! Yeah, i never noticed that the packs for Yogcraft were in a seperate folder than the FTB folder. After deleting the pack the game still stuck on the black screen so i deleted Optifine and that did the trick. Not sure what that means, did i install it wrong or was i using the wrong version or something?

Probably something you did, so it might be the version. I've never had problems with Optifine before.

Hang on, you're installing a 1.5.1 version on a 1.4.7 pack? Derp. We may have just found the problem.
