Crash on startup

Operating System, bit type: Mac OS X 10.6.8 64-bit
Java version/update, bit type: Java SE 6 64-bit
Launcher version: 1.3.5
Completed the troubleshooting guide: Y

Description of the problem: I'm having problems with loading up the modpacks. The game crashes before the Mojang screen comes up and I cant play any of the modpacks. Help!

the problem has absolutely nothing to do with operating systems. Don't tell people to get another operating system if the software doesn't actually require it.

Update Java to version 7, you'll need to get Mavericks to do this. IIRC Mavericks is free, check the update in the App Store program.
