Details of the issue:
Played fine for a couple of hours, then it crashed. Now every time i load the world, it crashes the moment i see the reticule, etc.​

Your world is corrupt. You can try opening it with MCedit and saving it as New World 2 and then try to load it. If that doesn't work you ned to restore a backup.
