crafting question

I installed the direwolf modpack.

When i looked up his video, i noticed he looks through the recipe in the NEI and click on the question mark button, then the ingredient in his inventory will automatically fit into the crafting box to make the item for him, how can i this? there is no just thing happen on me. I still have to put ingredients in place manually to make the item.

any ideas?

I wish that worked with the pocket crafting table. I love that thing. I use a combination of pocket crafting table and the TiC crafting table. Until I get AE running.
