Crackpack crashes on startup

I downloaded the launcher today and installed the Crackpack. I did not modify it in any way, just pressed play. The Mojang screen opened with the loading bars for the mods, went through a few and then the game closes itself. I'm a bit of an idiot when it comes to reading crash logs. Could someone help me?

That doesn't change the fact that your log shows a older version. Make sure the launcher is using the latest version, and post a new log if it still fails.

Open the log and check for yourself.

How do I change the version that the launcher is using? I don't see an option for that in settings sorry I'm a bit hopeless with this
