I haven't had much free time lately, and I've been trying to spend the time I have playing the game instead of browsing this forum, but... well, a thing happened a few weeks ago that you all might appreciate. This is what happens when you overload your MFR cow farm with wheat during a power failure to the mob grinder. The result is... cows. A lot of cows. By the time I was done cleaning up, I had 2000+ leather and 811 raw beef. The good news is that I'll probably never need a cow farm again. (Forgive the grammatical errors in the video, I'd been up 24+ hours when I recorded it.)

I did the same thing a while ago. How on earth is your computer good enough to run Minecraft smoothly with that many entities? I was getting about 0.5 fps. Had to spawn in a bucket of lava as the only way to kill them in any reasonable length of time.

My computer will run Minecraft amazingly smoothly in some areas and is an unplayable stuttering mess in others. I'm not technical enough to figure out the rhyme or reason of it, but I'm grateful when it works as well as you see here. :)

Hmmm, this might be out of place, but meh.

Two reasons. Graphic card limitations, memory limitations.

I'm not exactly sure when either are at their limits. I think when you have a lot of light updates, etc. (3D re-rendering) or a lot of particles, you're pushing your video card.

A lot of processes, or things for the computer to keep track of (for example, lots of items in pipes) means you are tasking your memory.

Experiment and see which one it is, adjust your settings accordingly. (i.e. Set your video settings lower, or reduce the load on the memory by limiting particles, etc.)

Hope it helps.
