Countdown is off!

Me and my friend noticed that the FTB launch countdown on the main site is based off the system clock, which causes it to be off for anyone outside GMT. For instance I live in EST (GMT-5), and the countdown suggests 7pm instead of 2pm, which the description implies.

I live in GMT -5 and the countdown is suggesting 1pm. Clearly this is larger error than we thought
