I'm just getting more into Thaumcraft 4, and I made a pickaxe of the core. When enchanting it on my advanced enchanting table, I notice that there's two things I haven't seen before. Consuming and Corrupting. I have no idea what these do, or what mod they're from. I'm assuming something Thaum based, because I don't see them with any other tools.
Anyone know what they do?
Thanks

I've heard the names before, and I *think* they're from Forbidden Magic. No idea what they do though.

They are From Forbidden Magic
Consume makes dirt, stone etc mined with it dissapear.
Corrupting makes the shards ore (form Thaumcraft) drop Corrupted shards which are needed for a few FM things
So not terribly useful to have on your main tool.

Awesome! Exactly what I needed to know, and good to know about the shards, I was wondering how to get the other types.

IIRC Consume gets rid of the "trash" blocks only, such as stone and dirt, so that's quite helpful for mining. Corrupting is useful for when you need the Nether version of shards rather than the Overworld version. So I would have Consume on my main tool, with Corrupting on a secondary.

I suppose if you are up to the level where you enchant you have access to quarries and cobble gen to provide building material. But does consume kill blocks like limestone and marble?

Probably not, I'd imagine it's coded just to get rid of vanilla junk blocks
So sand, gravel, dirt, and cobble

Well that's better then.

Umm... *checks around nervously*
Does it work on things registered as cobble in the ore dictionary? Like say... Geostrata stone?

Because then that chant's actually pretty damn handy.
