Connectivity Question

Me and some friends have just recently bought a dedicated server, unfortunately I have Hughes net and have reached my data cap. I am currently at .07mbps download speed and .16 upload. It takes about 10mins to load into the world and then its fine as long as i don't move from my base ( The lag is merciless). My only other internet option is to buy DSL at 764k speed. Is it worth paying the $15 a month for when I've reached Hughes net's data cap or would it still be unbearably slow?

DSL in my part of the woods used to provide about 2-3 down and about 750k-1000k up. Certainly not speedy, but worlds better than the throttled .07 and .16 you are experiencing.

What speed is their DSL offering?

Centurylink 764k only. I used to use it a few years back for games and had minor problem. Might go back to that, throttled wifi is terrible.

How does the additional cost of DSL compare to a higher tier Hughsnet plan with more data?

$30/mo more for a 50gb data cap ( instead of the 10gb I have) or $15 for unlimited internet at 768kbps.
