Connection problems hosting a LAN server for myself and a buddy

So my roomate and I are trying to start a FTB server, I can connect fine using either 'localhost' or my hamachi IPv4 Address. However, my roomate cannot connect using either our default internal router IP, or my Hamachi IPv4 address.

Any Ideas? I don't think it is a port forwarding problem considering I am going through Hamachi, and we are using the same router on the same network, in the same house, either Hamachi or our default IP should be working. Pretty stumped here, any info would be awesome.

I'd probably start with blaming firewalls, but if both get green lights from hamatchi shouldn't that be a problem.
I guess you could try adding portnumber, but i don't think that should be needed when connecting trough Hamatchi.
Have you tried to get him to make a server and have you join instead?

No I have not had him make a server and have myself join, but i will go ahead and try it i suppose. The odd thing is we are both in the same house, and we host a tekkit server together aswell, that we can join just fine.

SOLVED!

Turns out I was a complete dumbass and was using the routers internal IP and not the one my router was assigning my computer.

connecting to 192.168.1.1 is prity difficult with a MC client i would say xD ! Glad its solved and thanks for sharing solutions.
