I'm running the beta version of the Monster pack. I crafted a turtle, and whenever I access its interface or run a program on it, it drops my FPS down to around 2 per second. I am relatively early game and just have 1 turtle, with no other computers or machines.
I had used turtles in Ultimate on the same PC without any issues before. I have 6GB of RAM allocated to Minecraft. To be safe, I tested it with the same turtle program I wrote in Ultimate, and I'm getting the performance issue.
Any ideas what might be causing this? I'm a big fan of CC turtles so having them slow down the game like this is quite annoying.
Also annoying, although I'm not sure if it's just a change with the newer versions of Computercraft, is that whenever I break and place the turtle, it changes it's ID (in previous versions, the ID was stable once the turtle was made). This means that any programs I wrote in the computer will not be available once it's broken (besides editing the save or using disks in the mod).
