Hi guys, firstly I want to apologize if I break any rules and such by the making of this thread, I am fairly new to forums

My idea is for my whole ftb base to be connected to a fex computers that monitors everything that is happening in my world. But I am unsure if it is possible for a computer to send an email or open any other link other than the pastepin one. Any help appreciated.

I have seen someone use computercraft to access a website and send an email. Just don't know how, but I'm fairly sure it's possible. You might need an addon though.

according to dan200 there will some email system going to be happening soon im not just sure how there are also some apis in the CC forums you may want to check those out. rednetOS api i think is one of the programs you can install I'm not sure entirely just check the CC forums

Aah okay, I saw all the new games coming out that uses your smartphone as a part of the gameplay and I thought, "why not ftb?" Lol

I believe the HTTP API can do just that. It will take some work, and possibly a program running outside the game, but what you want is possible, if you are referring to a physical smartphone, such as a blackberry, android, or iPhone, that exists in the real world, not Minecraftia

Seen similar things done before for Kerbal Space Program(two different mods doing two different things that both are like this).

One was more of a data tracking mod, which allows one to access data from the game via a web browser. Also allowed a bit of control over the ship via MechJeb controls being included(for those who don't play KSP, MechJeb is a Autopilot mod that usually does a good job at everything except landing, much like a decent KSP player!). Another simply added the ability to control your ship via a tablet(the OP used a iPad, but it showed it was possible to do) using the normal controls for you ship(staging control, pitch, roll, that kind of stuff).

You *might* need a extra bit of code not found in CC, if you just want to control it via a web browser. If you want to control it via a Smartphone app, well, better make that Smartphone App first.

Lol I don't know anything about programming outside of computercraft. I'll just have to wait for computercraft or one if yhe peripheral mods to get this feature

Am i the only one who thinks ComputerCraftception should be a thing, like your able to view your desktop, go online, get forge, minecraft, and CC, and then just play CC in CC. Or even better Play FTB in CC in CC in CC.:p
