Computer Crashes, leading to corrupted server files

  • Tech Support section is for getting help with FTB related problems. If there's a repeatable issue that can be labeled as a bug, then please use the issue tracker for the pack or the app at GitHub issue trackers - If there's no repository for a pack that means that the pack is old and/or will not be updated. Bugs for older packs will not be fixed, unless they are critical.

Title:
Computer Crashes, leading to corrupted server files
Launcher Version:
Modpack:
Infinity Evolved
Modpack Version:
1.7.10
Log Link:
Details of the issue:
I am both running a FTB infinity evolved 1.7.10 server for a few friends and playing on it at the same time.

Not sure how this started or the details of the first time it happened, but I've been having an issue I think three times now very recently (past few hours) where my computer will crash leaving me with a black screen, but still able to communicate with friends in teamspeak and the server is still running because they're still playing on it. I am forced to reboot my computer with the server and my game client still running because I cannot access anything on my computer regardless of what I do because of the black screen. When I am booted back up and get the server back up and running, all is fine. The server command prompt displays nothing out of the ordinary, BUT once someone tries joining, the server crashes with the linked crashlog. I can't see anything having to do with specific mods and I haven't discovered anyone online with the same issue.

Replacing the world folder with one of the backup files solves the issue, but of course it is to the most recent backup, which is less than ideal.

If I had to pinpoint what the cause of the crash is, I would guess it has something to do with loading chunks because two of the crashes happened when I was hang gliding into uncharted territory where I know none of the other players have been.

Any help is appreciated!

Thank you.

Going to take a guess and say it is the LP player config that is throwing a fit. Try deleting that (make a backup of it first!) and then see if the server still crashes.
