Everything I've thought of so far has been done in some way, by some other server :/

I was an admin on this really great server last year, and they couldn't keep the server going. It was really community oriented, but I disagreed with the owner on how to do things.

It's hard to describe, but I want my server to be like that one was, but run the way I want it run.

I was just interested in what type of server you were aiming for. from what I can understand, you just want a server where everyone has fun and work together, or alone on the things they want. you don't want them have it too easy, but not too hard either, just a fun and happy server. with that your modlist is pretty good, but you may want to consider an adventure mod, in the shape of dungeons and such. I know there's twilight forest, but that's a different dimension and requires a diamond. you could try installing a mod like dungeonpack or betterdungeons, or perhaps ruins or floating ruins or battletowers?

For reference, the server I'm talking about has their website here: http://prot3ch.net/forum

I used to play on enderville, it was also quite a fun server. but there were problems aswell, mainly with the owner not giving a damn anymore, and the server getting new owners and such, at which point I just decided to quit.

but I hope you'll have good luck and fun with your server if it gets released :)

I've been doing a lot of thinking about the mod pack I've been working on.
I was wondering what the community thinks about having direct input on the updates/changes that occur in a modpack.
Example: there may be an issue involving one mod, I'd like to ask the community to decide if it updates or not (with me still having the final updating decision of course)

This is the basis of what of what Resonant Rise does and it works well for us.

But at some point you need to have creative control. For example, elevated ore generation is a popular debate in our forums and staff back channels.

Current list of mods and their open permission policies. Those without it have notes.

Thinking about buying myself a server for Christmas.

Configs for the mods I'm currently using

My one issue is treecapitator. I understand why people want it. But with TC4 and TiCo in the pack you have access to that fuciton via crafted tools. Sure your early game will be a slightly slower having to cut trees down. But with treecapitator you basicly gimp the need for one teir 2 tool from TiCo and one of the longer reasreach lines from TC4 making them pointless as a wood ax from day one does the job better then ether.

true. quickest way is going towards the TiC's lumberaxe, which requires a tool forge which only needs 4 iron blocks and some seared bricks, which you can easily get within your first 30 minutes. adding treecapacitor is just taking away for items like the lumberaxe...

It has a config option to make it so it only works like that with an enchant. So then you'll have 3 options instead of 2, and nothing is really gimped.

If you look at how I've changed the configs, the extra damage and should ge longer time it takes should balance out the use of treecap

That is good then I'm always one for more options but not at the cost of making one the only real choice.

wow, really? it's been so long since I last played with it, but this is some really good changes, makes the mod a whole lot more balanced like this :)
