Has anyone tried to combine these two worlds? I've tried but have not had any success. I simply copied the mod folder from one to the other as well as the core mods folder. I'm probably missing something in the resources folder. I don't have any logs and such as I didn't put a ton of effort in the combination. Anywho, just a thought that rattled in my crazy brain.

Unless the FTB team have used completely separate ID ranges for both packs that won't work I'm afraid. You'll get a load of conflicts just pasting one into the other. If you really want to do it you'll have to edit all the block IDs in the config files.

It's my understanding that the FTB Team is attempting to keep all ID ranges distinct on a per mod basis. This allows them to create different packs on the fly with only minor changes.

It's possible that there are some conflicts amongst the mods in those two packs. I've (manually) combined the Magic World pack and the updated mods from FTB Beta A (using MultiMC) by getting all updated mods from the Beta pack (downloading whatever is newest from the respective modders sites/posts) and copying over the config directory. I haven't tried adding things form the UE pack, so not sure if there are indeed conflicts.

That's true, but UE is a third party pack. We don't come up with the ID's for it.

Thanks for the reply everyone. I'm looking forward to the release of the official ultimate pack. Until then I'll keep adding beta stuff to my magic world and play with it. Also, these experiences are teaching me some valuable lessons. Playing with the configs and learning new things are almost as fun as playing MC....lol.

I had some trouble merging IC2 (with Gregtech, industrial control, power fields, gravisuit...), thermal expansion, computercraft, traincraft, Factorization and some more with the Magic World pack. ID Resolver helped me solve the issues, but now I fear what could happen if I add/actualize new mods XD.

Otherwise, it is impressive. And having LogisticPipes (even if they are an unfinished, unofficial version) is great, if a little compensation for RP's absence.

Actually, from what I've seen of RP's tubes I look at it the other way 'round. RP2's got an ok replacement for LP when LP isn't available. I'm not saying that RP2 doesn't have some fantastic things I'm dying to get my hands on (wires, gates and microblocks) but it's hard to top a polymorphic item sink for perfectly logical and ultimately customizable sorting.

Some people consider LP OP.

Well, Factorization barrels with RP tubes are the fastest and easiest way to set up an autosorting system, since the barrels accept only a single type of item and the tubes are "smarter" than BC pipes, not trying to instert an item where it won't be accepted (there are special pipes in an mod for BC, but in that instance I prefer diamond chests and LP).
Also, you need to fiddle with the config file of this unofficial update, or it will ask for EU to work. A lot of EU ;)

ID Resolver saves ID configurations, and won't override an already established ID unless the mod is removed and you allow it to re-allocate the now dead numbers.

Depends on what you consider fast, easy, and if you have factorization installed. Considering there is exactly 1 item in it I want and a buttload I don't that mod gets shut off ASAP.

I didn't. I dropped it right in, no problem. Also the LP buffer takes both MJ and EU and, yes, it takes a metric butt ton of energy in the buffer (I have no idea why) once it is running it is doesn't tale a lot of energy to do the work. But, if you're convinced that it needs config work to get it to play nicely you can also just turn off the power requirements. I left it on since I do think it should need power to operate. Just wish that dang buffer wasn't so large.

If you use ID Resolver, it should handle anything that combining the two mod packs could throw at it...

I use IDResolver and it is not handling everything. Which is fine I've abandoned the attempt. Now I'm (trying to) patiently wait for EE3, and RP2 to be released so i can create the ultimate pack. the previous statement assumes that the ultimate pack FTB puts together won't include everything I feel it needs. Which is probably true and you know what that's ok. Because the FTB team is smart enough and cool enough and gosh darnit I like them.
