Hi,
As the Title allready states, I'd like to accomplish the same thing Terrafirmacraft does with its ores.
In Short: Huge Veins of different types and/or quality spread really far out. I love that concept but don't want to build a (Private)Modpack arround TFC's super slow start...

Id instead like to get it done by CoFH Worldgen. Ive experiemnted a bit with the Worldgen but even with Large fractal nodes, very high density and super high rarety, I still can't get it to be anywhere near like TFCs ore distribution...

Could use some help here! Thanks in advance!

I assume you've already been over the COFH user's manual shared by our fellow forum-mates here on the FTB forums? That's really going to be your best resource in these parts, and even then I suspect that much of what's in that guide goes over most folk's heads (my own included, largely due to not wanting to take the time to really test it, learn it, and break it).

Your problem is that ores don't really vary in quality (except maybe Railcraft's 'poor ores' that smelt up nuggets instead of ingots), so this really isn't viable.

In TFC, one vein can have a huge amount of metal, hundreds of units if you are lucky. You can easily get a whole anvil out of your first strike of copper. However, CoFH generally works by chunk rather than by geome. There's also no way to restrict orespawn by geome because the geome doesn't really change. You can't tell it, for example, that Tin only spawns in this material, because it is all just Stone and it has no way of spawning ores in anything other than Stone even if you DID have a mod that created a geome.

So I don't see that what you are asking for is mechanically possible at this time.

Fairly simple to do:

#1 Disable the ore spawning in any of the other mod's configs. And enable the CoFH config that cause the vanilla gen to be replaced.
#2 Program CoFH Worldgen jsons with the ores you want to spawn.
#2a Use the "large-vein" generator type.
#2b Set "chunkChance" to some high number. (like 300 or so, meaning it will spawn once in every 300 chunks) and set "numClusters" to 1.

#3 Use the dense ores mod to simulate rich veins.

#4 I advice against using poor ores because they are just a pain to deal with.
