Imagine if you had to go to a specific mine some distance away to mine a given mineral.
It looks like it should be possible to use configs to make ores, like Iron, for example, appear in very large clumps but much more rarely, so as to preserve the average ore density per chunk.
It looks to me like the COFH config might be the best one to adjust, except in the cases of some mod specific ores.
I understand that some size values in configs are exponential, and so should be very carefully adjusted. Likewise, preserving average density per chunk will probably require some math, experimentation, and MCEdit statistics.
Has anyone already played with this? It looks like a big project to start from scratch on.
