I've been playing on the dw20 server with a friend, hosted on my PC.
After some time without playing we logged in but we are having problems: when he logs in, I see my friend's player model stuck in one place, moving his hand when mining but still stuck. On his side, he can move and broke blocks but can't open doors (with a panel), so I'm guessing it's client-server connection type problem. Also he seems to spawn some block under where I see his player model.
I didnt update the pack and he didn't update his as well, so it should not be an issue of updating.
Tried closing and re-opening the server but no luck. We are using Hamachi.
HELP?

I wanna hightlight that nothing was changed on either end, that's why I really dont know what to think. maybe a corruption of his player file?

Do the mined blocks drop items? Is there something in the log that may help if yes or not sure then please upload it to pastebin and give us the link?

In the mean time I would look what happens if you delete his player.dat file back it up first as it will delete his inventory and more
you could also make an backup of your world and try how it behaves in a new one.

I don't know, if they dropped items, he needs to get back to me on that. Do you mean the "latest.log"? ------> pastebin.com/FnYWtHen
Also, it's been some time since I tinkered with ftb....where's the player.dat? does it have his inventory or is that in the world save? I'll backup both just in case

with player.dat I meant the .dat file with his player name(or his uuid forgot what is used now)
I am right now not in a position to check where it is

yeah of course, I found em, I'm gonna back it up.
is there a chance this is an update issue? I noticed there's a new version of the server, my friend is asking me to try but I think it's not that

I have no idea what happened to be honest as I see nothing special in the log either.
The only thing that I can think of that something got corrupted in some way or another.

Yeah I'm starting to think about deleting his player.dat....he won't lose stuff like thaumcraft research since we were just starting and I can spawn in everything he had

I still suggest to make a backup just in case it is not that(moving a file is easier then to spawn everything in at least in my opinion )

Yes of course, I backed up both his .dat and the whole world.... which already has the player.dat in it, now that I think about it

its a good thing you can't be to cautious:p If it didn't work then the only thing I can think of is a bad chunk or the strangest Internet connection

So am I if it had to do with network I suspect to see something in the log.
You could try to see what happens in a totally new world or if you have time look what happens when either he logs in to your account or the other way around this will show if it is network problem.

One overlooked thing.......the whitelist.

Code:
[22:04:26] [Server thread/WARN]: Failed to load white-list:

I'd suggest making sure the whitelist is setup and in order and try again. What may be happening is the internal server is denying his connection and subsequently disconnecting him. One quick way to check and eliminate it as the cause would be to make sure "white-list" is equal to "false" in your server.properties.(will require a server restart)

He's not being disconnected though.
I checked the serverproperties file and whitelist is set on false.

My mistake, disregard then. The log showing him connecting and disconnecting frequently plus that error I pointed out made me think it. Perhaps your friend is wise to suggest updating the pack. There could potentially be a bug that could cause it. Not knowing exactly what version pack you're playing or any other technical specs, it's hard to really say anything for sure.

To go back onto the network being a possible issue, aside from trying what @lenscas suggested, have him ping your server with command prompt. An extremely high ping will be a sure sign of a network issue.
