Details of the issue:

Client displays health bar, hot bar, mini map, then it's followed by a black screen and the crash screen. can someone help? The server is hosted locally​

It is a rendering issue and you are using windows 10. I've heard of this issue but haven't experienced it yet. Do some research about windows 10, opengl and minecraft.
