Cheating your way to safe Unstable Ingots

If only you could melt Unstable Ingots in a smeltery and put it in florbs. What a weapon that would be!

If you are in the nether Creosote Florbs make great weapons.

You get an unstable stable ingot. I tried renaming it Ununstable ingot, but that semi activates it (you go boom when u close anvil)

There's already a way to make stable-unstable ingots with the pseudo-inversion sigil. The process for making that is complicated though.

My method of safe unstable ingots is accidentally having two items share the item ID and have unstable ingots also be hamster food xD

It was tested using the final beta version that he posted on twitter (a while ago), but I wouldn't really know, considering I don't use the packs. Here's a link if you want to see how (someone dug around the code and made the process public)

Do they explode dealing damage that bypasses all armor? If so, that's kinda OP as a weapon. If they only are basically napalm(as I'd assume), then there are much better options.

Heck, even if they just explode, that's cool, but there are better options.

No clue, I was just playing about with them in creative. Doubt it though.
