I have automated Unstable Ingot crafting.

I cheated. I used an external program to do it.

  1. Download and install AutoIt
  2. Download my script and save it somewhere
  3. Or, just download the compiled version of my script instead of steps 1 and 2
  4. Run the script or the executable
  5. Open your crafting window
  6. Move the mouse to the top-left of the crafting grid and press the ` button
  7. Move the mouse to the bottom-right of the crafting grid and press the ` button
  8. Move the mouse to the top-left of the 3x3 inventory area and press the ` button
  9. Move the mouse to the bottom-right of the 3x3 inventory area and press the ` button
  10. Fill your entire inventory and hotbar with items, with the exception of a 3x3 area in your inventory.
  11. Arrange any additional crafting materials in the inventory area required for the item that you are making with the ingots, e.g. sticks for an axe or sword
  12. Fill any un-used slots in your 3x3 inventory area with some filler material e.g. stone or dirt - this should leave the slots for the Unstable Ingots as the only free inventory slots
  13. Place the required number of iron ingots and diamonds, along with the Division Sigil, in the crafting grid - your screen should look something a little bit like this:
    UnstableCheat.jpg
  14. Shift-click on the Unstable Ingots in the crafting grid output, this should populate the empty inventory slots with the ingots
  15. Press the ` button one more time, this will quickly transfer the contents of the 3x3 inventory area into the crafting grid
  16. Clear out the "filler" items by double-clicking on one of them and dumping them somewhere
  17. Pick up the crafted item!
  18. Feel awful about having cheated and bypassed the danger aspect of Unstable Ingot crafting
From here on, every time you press ` it will repeat the process of copying the inventory slots into the crafting grid. If you press it when you do not have your inventory open, you will spin around wildly and click on loads of things in the world. You can exit the script by right-clicking on the "
autoit16.png
" icon in the system tray and selecting Exit.

Sounds handy, actually, but I'm fine using gold nuggets and 9 times the diamonds until I'm ready for the Ritual.

I have a simpler way.
1. You already have Inventory Tweaks
2. Make your unstable ingots as usual
3. Hold "W"
4. Click ingots
5. They're sent to the crafting table
6. Arrange them as needed (or don't, if you're making a block)
7. Happy crafting.

Slightly riskier, but much less complex. Even better if you have a sort of "double crafting grid" setup where you can craft one thing in one grid and another in another since this would let you craft the ingots on one side and move them to the other safely.

I wonder... would the Macro/Keybind mod work for this aswell? thought it does require liteloader

I was thinking a while back, there needs to be made a mod with a giant crafting table.

So basically, the GUI looks like nine crafting table GUIs, maybe compacted down a bit though. First, you put items in the smaller crafting tables, or the output slots if they're already made. If, when put together, these items can make something else, then you can craft the two steps at once, by clicking the final output slot to the right of everything.

Uncraft builders wand?
I put a Healing Axe into the Uncrafting Table, and the places where the ingots should be were occupied by the purple checkerboard of a texture error. Could be because Twilight Forest isn't supposed to be in the modpack (MF2) and I am getting a few other texture glitches. I didn't try actually uncrafting it. What do you get? Do you get the stable versions of the ingots?

you can uncraft it, but the texture glitch will happen with any modpack I believe.
if you uncraft it you'll get an actual unstable ingot that does not explode. you can use that unstable ingot in any recipe that you'd normally use an unstable ingot in.
you can also take it a step further, and uncraft the unstable ingot, which will give you an activated division sigil, a diamond and an iron ingot

There still remains the problem that unstable ingots can ONLY be crafted in a vanilla crafting table. Although, that would be a cool mod.

I just disable the explosions in the configs, then I go ahead & cheat in the final product if I can't craft it fast enough the 1st time. It did let me know that it was time to clean the gunk out of my trackball, though.

My method of safe unstable ingots is accidentally having two items share the item ID and have unstable ingots also be hamster food xD

You...feed your hamsters unstable ingots?

Dear god, treat that hamster cage like a reactor chamber.

Also, don't close out of your inventory within ten seconds of feeding them. Your hamsters may explode.

My hamsters never exploded, but they did manage to get stuck in my smeltery multiple times. It is 6 blocks tall. I think they can teleport.
