I recently made the wide area projector (alpha) upgrade for my charge pad, and it immediately made me wonder if they could be kept in an 'on' state by default somehow? I tried redstone signals but had no luck, though maybe I just didn't apply it correctly?

I notice the pads don't lose any energy when activated unless something is being recharged, so I thought keeping a large area one online would make a really cool room or hallway piece :3 But is it possible, and if so, how?

Well, essentially the charging pads are pressure plates by nature. Finding a way to jam them on will be impossible because they are designed to detect.

I think you may be out of luck on this one. Great Idea though.

I think they're made out of stone pressure plates, so, logic tells me that is not going to work.

AH, nevermind then... charge pads always seemed a bit retarded to me having to stand there and charge items, always seemed better for me to drop items into a storage box then do what you need to do and come back...

I always liked the Idea, but never used them, I forget about it when I get to end-game, where I feel it's usefull.

Ya I agree, is a good plan but I've never worked out if they could be used while wandering around a room, THEN I would use them everywhere around my base... Anyone got info on this??

It'd be nice if the mod author would create a "Switch Inverter" module/upgrade for these, which we could drop into one of the pads' upgrade slots and it would be always-on like we want. :D

the fact about charge pads - they suck without a lot of overclockers i.e. they too damn slow.
in ultimate overclockers only stack to 4(could be gregs doing, but i`m not sure) which means - chargepads suck.
gt`s energy-o-mat is really good(compared to chargepads):
its always work.
it has some range. didnt test it but it has some.
it can be used as a charge bench.

i`m not the guy that usually promotes gt, but in scenario that i experienced, charge-o-mat>chargepads
