Well I've just made my 1.5.1 modpack and I'm honestly stuck. I'm trying to find where I can make only one mod's ores generate, thermal expansion preferably, but I can't seem to find any config files for it.
Any help would be very much appreciated and thank you for your time.

There is no way to make only one mod control all the ores, unless you add a mod like Custom Ore Generation and invest an unholy amount of effort.

Thermal Expansion was chosen by the FTB team to provide the common four mod metals - copper, tin, silver, lead - because the config file allows you to specify amounts and spawn heights for them. Thus, regardless of how many mods require these metals, TE can always provide for them because all you need to do is up the spawn amounts if necessary. Other mod ores, however? No deal.

TE also allows you to spawn additional vanilla ores ("additional" meaning "on top of what spawns naturally") if you set the "augmentvanilla" option to true and reload the client once.

Yeah this is what I meant, sorry for the poor wording. Basically what I'm trying to do is make it to where i no longer run across 17 different kinds of copper/tin/lead/silver/yada when I go mining. Which configs would I have to alter to do that?

Yeah, I think that that's exactly what he was asking about.

I'm not sure how to make CoFH generate everything, but first you need to kill the generation from other mods in their respective config files. For example forestry has copper and tin generation in the common.conf file at the very bottom. I'm not sure where to find the rest, but I'm sure you'll find it if you try.

The other mods(besides TE and forestry) that add worldgen are IC^2, gregtech, Factoryzation aaaand... errr. I'm sure there's more.

Look in their respective configs.

Oh so I have to disable all the other ones and then CoFH is the only one that can generate.. interesting. Thanks for the help. :)

Yeah, I haven't looked CoFH yet (nor will I, I kinda should be working) BUT I guess you can make it generate stuff from other mods.

Something like forestry.oreTin = someIDyoupick.

Eh, it's made by King Lemming. It'll be something simple and nice, CoFH was made for such things specifically after all.

Ah right, mea culpa... in 1.5+, ore generation was moved from Thermal Expansion to CoFH Core. Same thing, different config file.

Yeah I went to the other configs ( Forestry, Ic2, Factorization.. ) and disabled every tin, copper, silver and lead ore gen. Hopefully it works.

So am right in thinking CoFH Core can change ore spawn from other Mods would anyone know how this done done it says from any mod is this true??
