Moooore questions ??? I'm like a curious autistic kid sometimes... anyway, I was wondering if there's a way to change your skin while online without logging in and out. And maybe one for SSP too ? Some sort of mod or plugin. Mainly because I let my neice play on my account because she doesn't have her own computer and I get tired of having to change my skin using the official website, but I don't want to force her to be a boy online with all her other 10 yr old friends. lol.

Vanilla 1.8 Minecraft is what you're waiting for.

If you want your niece to have her on avatar, just buy her a Minecraft account and let her have not only her own skin, but her own IGN as well

Somewhere over the rainbow.
Yup, a very valuable gift, I found my cousin (he's 15 at the moment) is a great architect when we let him first join us on a Minecraft Tekkit 1.2.5 adventure in 2012 he created such a huge village that had so much villagers, it was bad that they weren't trading at that point (prior to 1.3, Villagers were pretty much useless) in fact there was so many villagers that we had to move our base far from the village cause the fps was around 4-10 max in that area...

If I am going to get her an account, I may wanna get her a computer too. She has nowhere else to play but on mine. I'd like to play WITH her sometime though. I was also thinking it would be neat to change skins for myself. With some packs, my theme is medeival and I'd like my skin to match, other times, its all space age etc. Having a skin for each server I play would be sweet, and SSP even sweeter. Its ok though, I think I will get my neice an account

I've used cofh for capes in the past. I set mine to a site that let's you tie a series of images to the same url and it randomly chooses which to send out when it gets a request. I've tested and on client player loads it reloads the cape so it works exactly as you'd expect. This isn't as intelligent or as fast as what you're looking for but you can change the url on the fly. The site I use for image rotation is randimg btw.

Alternatively, you could choose an animal skin that isnt inherintly male or female. Modular powersuits also has a lot of customizable armor features and colors built in. You can even make it transparent so you can see your skin if you really like it a lot.

Do COFH Skin/Cape command stuff work in SSP or LAN. If its only different to other players, she will have a cow. lol. I usually just run around SSP as a cute lil blonde girl with a backwards hat on ;) But when I get on a server, people don't recognize me, or even worse, it seems like they are always givin me food or following me if I go in PVP areas like they think I will get hurt or something. Makes me wonder if I should start a social experiment to play as a girl and see if people treat me super different or if my online friends are just screwing with me because of the skin. lol. Anyways, I found out you can get Mojang gift cards to buy Minecraft without a credit card at places like GameStop so I think I will get her one of them soon. And when I get my new computer hopefully sometime this year, probably will give her this one...Then I can play WITH her finally...

Spoiler alert. People will treat you differently. I did a social experiment like this with two other friends back in middle school where we went on different social gaming platforms and saw how people reacted to when I was a boy or girl. If you ask for help as a girl, they fall all over you, if you're a guy, they will ignore you, call you a noob, or, and this is unlikely, someone will offer you help. That's why I never try and treat any gender more fairly because you never know who they actually are.

It's my understanding that cofh is handled by the server you're playing on rather than any outside sources. You need to set the cape (and by extension I assume the skin) on a per server basis. This includes SSP. If you load up one SSP world the cofh mod will check the files for that world, if it sees a link, it'll pull it down and slap it on your player. It does this for every client that loads up that player so if you're on LAN it will download the skin on everyone's client.

Also I say all this but as I'm testing in 1.6.4 I'm not having any luck getting capes or skins to stick. I've never tried the custom skins but capes were working fine in 1.5.2. It may be a config issue or something else I'm missing.
