I'm just wondering about how to do this. I'll be the first to admit that I migrated from Tekkit. I didn't really keep up with all the stigma when I first started playing it, but once I discovered the whole Forestry ordeal, I had left and simply went to play Vanilla for a long time, until I heard about this. But after I set up a server for FTB, and started getting into it, I realized the machine recipes were completely different due to Gregtech.

Don't get me wrong, I understand some of it, but I really don't like the solar panel changes. I know you shouldn't be able to get energy effortlessly, but at the same time, I never found the old recipe for solar panels to be really exploitable. Even to make a flower of low-tier solar panels required a lot of resources to begin with. This new recipe though, I'm not even sure how to use. I don't quite understand how you're even supposed to /get/ silicon cells, and NEI really doesn't help in that department at all.

I know in SSP, you can just change some config settings and disable the new recipes -- is there any way to do that for a SMP server? I like some of the content Gregtech adds, but I want the old Solar Panel recipe back personally. If it's not possible, that's alright I suppose, but I really don't understand how the new system works at all, and there's not much of a guide online for it. :c

Thanks ahead of time.

Yeah you can change it on the server. You need to go into the server's config folder and then edit the Gregtech.cfg - the same as you would on your client.

Oh hey, so it is. Right there under "expensivesolarrecipe". I suppose I should've just looked and checked for myself, but I know very little about server stuff.

Much appreciated.

Edit: Just making sure, but even if I change these configs in the server, all the people who play on that server will also have to change the configs on their clients in order to reflect these changes properly, right? I'm guessing even if the server has the original recipes, the clients would have to have them too or it might cause some minor bugs (not game-breaking, but at least where you won't actually see the item being crafted even if you put in the right recipe, or you would if you put in the expensive recipe but it won't actually craft).

Question: where can I find the config file for the GregTech mod in the client side modpack? I know it's probably right in front of my face but I've fixed the issue on my server file itself but I need the client side one as well correct?

I tried to edit the GregTech Config (recipes) on the server with ssh. But everytime I restart the server, the config files get reset. What do I have to do to make this work?!?
