Can't split into 2 stacks in inventory

Wheneever I take a stack of 64, right click in, put half in another box, it looks okay until I press E again to close my inventory, and then they are grouped again into 64.. I hit the ".." box in my inventory to access the settings but couldnt get this auto grouping/stacking to stop.

Does anyone know where this setting is?
