Can't Progress with Tinkers Construct

I'm running a modpack with TC on MC 1.7.10 with Iguana Tweaks but I can't progress because I cannot mine Diamond nor Obsidian. I have a mastered Iron Pickaxe but even with that I can't mine it. I found 2 diamonds in a Jungle Temple and put one as a modifier of the pickaxe but that neither worked. Any suggestions?

there's mining tiers with Iguana Tweaks. this means there's probably a few tiers between iron and diamond, so you'll have to upgrade your pick to those first before you can mine diamond and obsidian

Do you have Thaumcraft? -thaumium tools are pretty neat.
Also Railcraft steel.

It would help if you could give the pack name, or a spoilered mod list.

Add lava and water to a smeltery and they will combine to molten obsidian. Mix that with some other junk to make alumite. You can get liquids into your smeltery quickly and cheaply using Drains and Casting Channels.
